Senior Kindy
During your child's day in the Senior Kindy room, we aim to help your child feel secure in an environment which is much like a second home. This is achieved by singing, dancing, language activities, stories, perceptual motor activities, art and craft, multi-culturalism and outdoor experiences. While this is our aim, we also try to help your child extend their development in the following areas:
- Social development
- Emotional development
- Physical development
- Intellectual development
Preschool
As teachers it is our responsibility to observe the children in our care to assess their abilities, skills and development needs.
Through observation we are able to develop a Care and Education program that best meets the needs of the children.
The preschool program is based on Learning Centres, which provide a base topic or theme that is the centre of the program. All areas of development are planned through activities and experiences based on the Learning Centres.
Learning centres enable the children to become creative thinkers and lovers of learning, as they explore and participate in many different activities and experiences. Thus allowing our children to continue to develop and grow as unique individuals.
Prep
In Prep, our main goal is to get our child ready for the challenge of school. This is achieved in a program which both challenges and extends the children's abilities. Activities such as pre-writing skills, recognising their name, letters, sounds and numbers, cutting skills, and extending their concentration span are just some of the areas we develop in preparation for school.
We study different cultures through food, music and books as a daily part of our program. Creativity is encouraged through dancing, singing, many different art and craft experiences, carpentry, visitors to the centre and excursions. Our aim is for your children's day to be filled with fun and laughter, friends and joy, and for them to come away with the skills they need, to be happy, healthy and confident individuals who are prepared for their first year of school.
